Near-peer medical mentorship

Andrew Drake, MD
PGY-3Psychiatry
I was a non-traditional applicant that switched careers from teaching high school to practicing medicine. I did basic research prior to admission to medical school then clinical research while a medical student. I chose psychiatry as a specialty after my clerkship rotations. I had my first child as a second year medical student, and my second child as a second year resident. I am interested most in hospital psychiatry and addiction treatment, with interest in veteran and marginalized populations
