ERAS season is rapidly approaching. Whether you're submitting in September or you're an MS3 with the Match still a year out — this hour meets you where you are. Competitive surgical specialties play by different rules: away rotations, program signals, research, and Step 2 all carry more weight, and the margins are thinner. Six residents who recently went through the Match break down the application: what programs actually weigh, the timeline working backward from September, program signals, letters, and the mistakes that can hurt applicants. MS4s leave with a checklist for the next eight weeks; MS3s leave knowing what to set up now — aways, research, Step 2 timing — while there's still time. Then each mentor gives their unfiltered 5-minute story — general surgery, orthopedics, plastic surgery, urology, and cardiothoracic surgery — so you can see how strategy changes across specialties. We end with open Q&A, plus optional specialty breakout rooms for small-group questions. Free, 20 seats, and you'll get our slides after the session. Different specialty? We're running a second session on Wednesday, August 5 — anesthesia, EM, IM, psych & neuro. Come to one or both.
